Job Mr Apple, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand – Fruit Picking
Mr Apple New Zealand Ltd offers a range of seasonal employment, which allows New Zealanders and overseas tourists to earn an income while enjoying the attractions, adventures and the wonderful climate that Hawkes Bay has to offer.

Fruit Thinning occurs in our orchards during November and December and is paid on a contract or piecework basis per tree. Thinning is the removal of defective fruit from the tree allowing the remaining fruit to size up. Training and supervision is provided.
Apple Picking is available from January to May each year. Apple picking is a great way to earn cash while enjoying the beautiful Hawkes Bay scenery. This work is paid on a contract basis, with the rates varying by variety; the average price per bin will depend on the area and type of fruit you are picking. A good picker can pick up to 8 bins per day. Training, supervision and equipment is provided.
Packhouse work has a range of jobs available. Grading and packing require concentration and good hand to eye co-ordination. Stacking and strapping requires physical fitness, strength and stamina. All work is paid on an hourly basis and operates on shifts with extra hours available for those that are keen. The packing season usually runs from February to June each year. Training, supervision and equipment is provided.
