	Job Title: Production Operatives We have 50 plus places during October and April for seasonal production operatives - although more experienced applicants may be selected to undertake other roles such as line leaders, supervisors, machine operators and forklift drivers. Job Description: Production work includes tasks such as trimming, packing, labelling and grading salad and vegetable products. Location We are based at Barway in Cambridgeshire. Barway is a small village although we do not have shops or pubs, Ely is 5 miles, Soham - 3 miles, Newmarket - 10 miles, Cambridge - 18 miles and London is approximately 60 miles. There is a regular bus service and Train service from Ely. Accommodation Facility The accommodation is dormitory style (imagine a youth hostel) with 4-6 people sharing. Each room is equipped with bed/ locker/ table & chairs and fridge. Two t.v rooms with satellite television Games room with Pool tables, Darts and Table Tennis. Included in the accommodation package is 6 evening meals (Monday - Saturday) cooked and served at our on-site restaurant. Breakfast and lunch you provide for yourself, either from the restaurant or by using the bus service to the local supermarket. Days of Work Your normal working week will be Monday to Saturday. Exact hours and times will vary according to the demands of the business. Overtime is expected. At times you will be expected to work longer hours and during bank holidays, at all times complying with current legislation such as the Working Time Directive. Rates of Pay: Each week you will receive payment for the previous weeks work. Payment is based on either hourly rate or piecework rate. Hourly rate - this will be line with the National Minimum wage act. Piecework rate - This is a payment by result system, the more work you do the more money you will earn. Faster workers earn a lot of money this way. With overtime you can expect to earn up to 250 per week. Standard deductions (tax & N.I.) will be made from your wages and the details shown on your itemised wage slip. No cash payments. Your wages will be paid by BACS transfer into your bank or building society account. If you do not have a bank account we can arrange one for you as long as you have an up to date passport or photo identification card. Charges The accommodation package is to the value of 37.98. This is treated as a payment in kind and is reflected in your earnings. Fun The hostel encourages an active sports and social life outside working hours. Trips are regularly organised by the hostel so that you are able to see as much of the United Kingdom as possible. What you should bring: Sleeping bag (pillow if wish). Warm working clothes and footwear. Sufficient money to last until payday. Identification - such as passport. We are unable to provide work permits or working visas.
